We are a husband and wife team focusing on enhancing lives through

Nice to meet you!
BIOKINETICIST
CJ Barnard
I grew up in a house that had a great passion for both sports and a healthy lifestyle. As a youngster, I participated in multiple sporting disciplines and reached provincial colours in athletics, rugby, cricket and wrestling. During this time I realised the importance of a sport-specific programme, the management and treatment of injuries, and the immense advantages of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It is with a love for sports and a passion for people that the journey to biokinetics and helping others started.
I completed my first degree in BSc Human Movement Science and Physiology in 2017. I then went further and completed my Honours in Biokinetics in 2018 at the North West University (NWU Potchefstroom). The next chapter of my life took me to the Blue Bulls Company, where I completed my internship in 2019.
I was fortunate enough to learn a great deal about high-performance orthopaedic rehab and sports injuries from the best in the field. I also worked part-time at Tirsa Pittaway Biokineticist as an intern, where I saw a wide variety of patients and took in as much knowledge as possible.
With the drive to make a difference, CJ Barnard Biokineticist opened its doors in 2019 as an independent practice. I was lucky enough to marry my colleague and best friend, Chardoné Zwart, in September 2022. We merged our practices in 2023 to start C&C Barnard Biokineticists, where we live each day to make a difference. We constantly challenge ourselves by completing new courses, staying up to date with the newest research, and keeping our approaches as scientific, individualised and evidence-based as possible.
BIOKINETICIST
Chardoné Barnard
I am an energetic, sporty person who enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle. I participated at the provincial level in multiple sports, including hockey, athletics and cycling. I also loved doing gymnastics, swimming, cricket, netball, action netball and running. This background made it easy to find my passion as a biokineticist.
I graduated from NWU Potchefstroom in 2017 with a degree in BSC HMS and Physiology, and I completed an Honours Degree in Biokinetics in 2018.
In 2019 I completed my internship at the Netcare Centre for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics and the Lions Rugby Union. With this internship, I developed an interest in both the orthopaedic and clinical aspects of the biokinetics field.
In 2020 I worked at Anel Odendaal Biokinetics as a registered biokineticist, where I completed extra courses to specialise in different joints of the body.
I opened up my independent practice in 2021 at the Premier Health Centre in Randburg. I consistently work on improving my knowledge and skills, staying on top of the newest rehabilitation progressions.
In 2022 I was blessed to marry CJ. Shortly thereafter, we merged our practices into one: C&C Barnard Biokineticists, formed in 2023. I now live out my dream as an all-rounder biokineticist, seeing orthopaedic, clinical and wellness patients.
